Shanmen reservoir is the center of Shanmen scenic area, Southeast of Siping City, surrounded by mountains. Longwang River and Chongwang River, two clear and bottomless rivers with twists and turns, flow into the lake. The lake surface is open and flat like a mirror. The apricot blossom in the west side of Xinghua mountain is filled with fragrant apricot flowers in early spring, attracting countless bees and butterflies to dance. The Mountain Gate reservoir nestles at the foot of the apricot blossom mountain. The mountains and rivers reflect each other, just like the beauty looking at the mirror, which adds infinite color to the nature.




The South Bank of the reservoir is Xinghua mountain. In early spring, the apricot flowers are fragrant and attract countless bees and butterflies. The Mountain Gate reservoir nestles at the foot of the apricot blossom mountain. The mountains and rivers reflect each other, just like the beauty looking at the mirror, which adds infinite color to the nature. Xinghua mountain is about three or four thousand meters above sea level. The south is connected with songshushan mountain and the East is facing the back mountain of Derentang. Most of the scenic spots are built on this mountain. Climbing Xinghua mountain from the south side of the dam of Shanmen reservoir requires climbing the "climbing gate" at the foot of the mountain and the "moon gate" on the top of the mountain. There are three pavilions of different styles connecting the 147 grade cement stone steps, which are two layers, green trees and flowers.

Step up the steep stone steps to the mountain. Climbing to the top of the mountain, you can see the fields from afar: at the foot of Xinghua mountain, the pines are always green; at the east of Shimen mountain, there are green trees; at the north of banla mountain, there are shimmering stones; at the west, there are long mountains, with mist rising, a long dike of hundreds of meters lying across the north and south, linked with the moon gate, surrounded by green mountains around a bay of clear water, and a light boat smashing the shadow of the lake, which is really a comfortable place.

The 827 meter long levee is the only way to Xinghua mountain. On the west side of the levee, people climb from the "fairyland" to reach the "Range Rover gate" through 147 grade cement stone steps connected by three pavilions of different styles.
